Long-sleeved jersey worn during the 1999-2000 National Championship, by number 2: Frédéric Lemasson.
Defender Frédéric Lemasson arrived in 1998 from FC Nantes (his youth club). He left at the end of the 2002-2003 season after five successful seasons with SCO Angers, moving on to Gazélec, Croix de Savoie, Le Poiré-sur-Vie, Les Sables-d'Olonne, Clisson, and La Haye-Fouassière, where he later became a coach. He played 161 matches for SCO Angers and scored 5 goals.
This jersey is very important to me because it's the year we were promoted to D2 and I love long-sleeved jerseys. I got it from the player: thanks Fred!!
At the end of the 1999-2000 season, SCO Angers finally returned to Ligue 2 after four long lean years in the National league, finishing 3rd. This SCO Angers side, led by Goavec, may not have had a "fantastic attack," but it boasted a solid defense (the best in the league) with players like Lemasson, Grossmann, W. Louiron, and Gunia.
